Grading.
ff VJ
The wetland/mitigation area will be excavated at the
H initiation of the project. The area will he graded to the
H o proposed contours for introduction of the organic soil base
from the existing northwest wetland and nati.ve vegetation. A
temporar5• sedimentation basin will be constructed with
sediment detention collection points/sedimentation ditches in
..
the southwest corner and central portion of the wetland
mitigation/retention pond area (SD-].) . The collection points
and sedimentation ditch will be sodded on the outside to
reduce the possibilities of erosion or r,tructure failure.
Additional hay bales will be placed between the central
,, collection points/sedimentation ditch and the protected
wetland . These are temporary measures to reduce the
'' possibilities of sediment or equipment impacts to the retained
natural wetland areas during construction . After
' construction, the temporary ctructure will be removed and the
'' .. area planted. nny exceasive sediment deposits will also be
removed at this tine. These fences will be removed at the
same time as the temporary sediment collection
f' points/sedimentation ditches. .
' .,, Prior to excavation, selected trees which will be
identified and flagged by the wetlands const:ruction supervisor
' and the wetlands biologist to identify those trees that will
' be removed and replanted into the mitigatio.n area. Once this
is completed, the remainder of the area, with the exception of
'' .+ the exieting wetlands, will be graded to the proposed
' elevations (Construction Drawings) ) . The site will be graded
to create the 561-564 foct elevation areas in the bottom of
' the retention pond area. The areas surrounding and adjacent to
' the existing wet].ands will be graded up to the edqe of the
flagged wetland. This may require some harn9-clearinq in an
effort to maximize the wetland design features of the
mitigation plan without disturbing the existing remaining
wetlands. The slopes from 564 to the top of the slopec and to
create the permanent peninsula will be created. These provide
"' the shrub/tree replacement areas and the 25 foot bufler area
surrounding the wetland portion of the site (SD-7) .
3
...
