The imposed medical service response fee is to recover actual or billed costs <br /> associated with such transport. It establishes criteria and procedures for billing and establishing member <br /> status for Everett residents, business owners and their employees so that costs over and above the amounts <br /> recovered from insurance, Medicare or Medicaid are deemed paid by virtue of the EMS property tax levy <br /> imposed on owners of property in Everett.Nonresidents who receive the medical response transportation will <br /> be billed for the entire amount of costs associated with such transport and will not qualify for the EMS <br /> property tax levy credit. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Approve ordinance relating to the Everett Fire Department's transporting sick or injured persons; imposing <br /> a medical service response fee to recover actual or billed costs associated with such transport; establishing <br /> criteria and procedures for billing and member status for Everett residents,business owners and their <br /> employees, and amending Ordinance No. 2308-98 (Ch. 5.72 EMC)by adding new sections and amending <br /> Section 1. <br /> 17 <br />
