The construction will be in accordance <br />with seismic zone 3. <br />The occupancy group for the new mezzanine is B-2. This conforms with the <br />existing use group. <br />The office area is to be constructed in accordance with Section 1716, 4 of the <br />1988 edition of the UBC. However, due to the need to maintain an "office" <br />environment, the perimeter walls will be constructed wit:13-1/2" metal studs and <br />two layers of 5/8-inch gypsum wall board on each side with resilient clips on the <br />office side. In addition, the perimeter walls are to have acoustical insulation to <br />give the desired STC rating. <br />j*A1fI1[Cj;m*111_► <br />The occupant load factor for an office space is 100 SF per person, [1988 edition <br />Atr/t of the UBC, Table No. 33-A]. The new mezzanine has an area of approximately <br />gait " 1,930 SF. Therefore the occupant load for exit calculations is 120 people. Since the stair to the north extends down to an exit tunnel, the direct <br />access requirement is satisfied.
