DOCING PUEL DOCK - TRENCH DRAf <br /> JULY 1994 <br /> C• Remove shceting and bracing from trench before ��r during backfiliing operations <br /> unless directed otherwise. <br /> 3•7 PIPE BEDUING: <br /> A• Place faur-inch minimum laycr o(bedding material as specified over the fu11 width of <br /> �he trench ahead of pipe laying operations, Bed the pipe in the bedding so that the <br /> flow line is at the required grade and elevation. <br /> B• Shapc bottom of the trench or the bedding so that at least the lower quarter of the pipe <br /> circumference is in continuous contact t�ith the bottom of the trench, unless otherwise <br /> Sh�wn on the drawings. <br /> 3•8 BACKFILL AND COMPACTIOfV: <br /> A• Notify the Owner's Authorized Representive at least 24 hours in advance of <br /> backfilling. Conduct required pressure tests in utility line before final backfilling• <br /> B• Protect pipe from lateral movement or damage from impact or unbalanced loading by <br /> adequately embedding in suitabie material. <br /> C• Backfili with material specified. <br /> �• Place backfill in lift thiclmessu not exceeding six inches in loose depth. Raise the <br /> backfill level unifortnly on both sides of pipc. <br /> E• Compact pipe zone to 95 percent of ma�cimum density as measured by <br /> ASTM D 1557, unlus directed othetwise. <br /> F• In•place density tests will be rtude according to ASTM D 1556 or D 2922, qbo�e <br /> the pipe zone and up to aubgrade level in all trenches, and around manl�oles, iNets, <br /> and valves, compact to 98 percent of maximum densiry as detemtined by ASTM <br /> D1557, Method D. <br /> G• �o oot place backfill agrinst concrete sttuctures until the concrete has reached y0 <br /> percent of its daign strengui or has cured for at least 14 days, <br /> H' �OOd��B W��h water and compaMion with vibrator ursder flooding water wi11 not be <br /> allowed. <br /> I• Controctor ahall rcpair and recompact pe} the roquirements hercin, to the original <br /> level and condition, all existing pavement subgrade dismrbed by construction of <br /> adjacent structures, trenches, manho�es� ar pits. <br /> i•?
