BOEING FUEL DOCK - TRENCH DRAIN 1ULY 1994 <br /> . A. Manhole Steps: Manhole steps shall be madc of minimum 3/4-inch galvanized stcel <br /> bar con[orming to ASTM A 36. Steps shall be 12-inch wide minimum, <br /> center-to-center of legs, and shall be drop pattem with a two-inch drop. Bends shali <br /> be made around a one-inch radius minimum, two-iuch radius maximum mandrel. <br /> There shall be three-inch minimum embedment in precast concrete manhole sections <br /> and 4-1/2-inch minimum projection from the face of concrete at point of embedment <br /> to the center of the step. The�e shall be a two-inch hook on the embedment end. <br /> Galvanizing shali confomi to ASTM A l23 and shall be done after bending. <br /> PART 3 - GXECUTION <br /> 3.1 FORMING AND PLACING CONCI�TE: <br /> A. Ready-Miz Concrete: ASTM C 94. <br /> B. Portnwork: Construct so that wncrete members and atructures are of corcect siu, <br /> shape, alignment, elevation, and position. <br /> 1. Provide openings in fonnwork to accommodate wotk of other trades. <br /> Awurately place and securely support items built into fortns. <br /> 2. Clean and adjust fo�ms prior to wncrete placement. Apply focm-release <br /> agenta or wet fotms, as required. Retighten fortns during concrete placement <br /> if required to eliminate mortar leaks. <br /> C. Reinforcement: Position, suppart, and secure reinforcement against displacement. <br /> [.ocate and aupport with metal chaira, tunners, bolsteta, spacers, and hangers, as <br /> required. Set wire ties so ends are directed into concrete, not toward exposed <br /> concrete surfaces. <br /> D. Joints: Provlde conshuction, isolation, and control joints as indicated or required. <br /> L.ocate wnstruction joints so as not to impair atrength and appearance of structure. <br /> Place isolation and control joints in slabs-on-ground to stabiliu differential settlement <br /> and random cracking. <br /> E. Installation of Embedded Items: Set and build into work anchorage devices and other <br /> etnbedded items required for other work that is attached to or suppocted by <br /> cast-in-place wncreta Use setting diagrams, templstes, and instcuctions providal by <br /> others for locating and setting. <br /> F. Concrete Placement: Comply with ACI, placing concrete in a continuous operation <br /> wilhin plenned jointa or aectians. Do not begin placement until wotk of other trades <br /> affecting wncrete is completed. <br /> G. Consolidate placed concrete using mechanical vibrating equipment with hand rodding <br /> and tamping, so that wncrete is worked around rcinforcement and other embedded <br /> items and into fortns. <br /> H.
