Develop and maintain a quality control program regulating methode,praedurea,and processes to <br /> ensure compliance with etendards of qualily as required in this Seclion. <br /> B. Within 30 days efter the effective dete of the Notice to Proceed,submN for approval of the Boeing <br /> Construdion Meneger a deteiled nertative explaining lhe�uality Control progrem and procedures to <br /> be utilized for the work and e description of the organizelion to be used on the Contract. Work <br /> underteken prior to approval of the quality control program will be at lhe Contradofs nak. The <br /> Boeing Construdion Manager will monitw lhe Contractor's methods,procedurea,and processes for <br /> compS�ance with the epproved program. <br /> C. Records of inspection work by lhe Contractor shall be kepl complete and available ta the Boeing <br /> Construction Manager during lhe perfortnence ot the Contracl and lo Boeing Facilities Department <br /> tor longer perioda as may be spec�ed elaewhere in the Contrad. <br /> D. Inspection and Tesling. <br /> 1. The producta end material incorporated into the work will be aubjecl lo inepection by the <br /> Boeing Construdion Manager, at the Contrador's and Subcontrador's facilities, place o( <br /> manufacture,the shipping point,and et the shipping deatination. Inspeclion and tests by lhe <br /> Boeing Construction Manager will be perfortned i�euch a mann�r as not to unduly delay the <br /> work. <br /> 2. Whether or not the Boeing Construction Maneger inspects or lests any materials, lhe <br /> Contrador will not be relieved from eny responeibility regerding defecta or other(ailures to <br /> meet the Contract requirements, nor will such Inspeclion or testing be considered as a <br /> guerantee ai acceptance ot any meterial which may be delivered leter. <br /> 3 Perform tests and anelyses specifled in Chepter 4,Part 2,of lhe AREMA Manual end submA <br /> the results in eccordence with this Section. <br /> 4. Uflrasonically test rait tor inlemal defects in accordance wRh ASTM A57B,as mod�ed herein: <br /> a. References to"plate thickness"in ASTM A578 meen rail depth Ir �m head to base for <br /> measurements from the top o1 lhe rail head, or rail web width for measurements <br /> laterally through the rail web. <br /> b Replace"Acceptance Standarda"in ASTM A578 by a detecl in lhe occu�ence oi one <br /> ot the following readings. <br /> 1) Complete loss ot back refleclion. <br /> 2) A reflection(rom a detect(i.e. not attributable to a rellocting au�face of the rail <br /> exterior)greater than 5 percent oi the back relleclion. <br /> c Reject a reil if a defecl occurs more lhen 3 feel from either end oi lhe rail. <br /> d Defects within 3 feel of the rail end may be re^ioved by cropping the rail segment <br /> containing lhe defed il lhe resulting rail length is to an allowable rail length increment <br /> and equal lo or greater than the minimum ellowable rail length. The reduced rail <br /> length will be included as paR ol the quantiry of allowable 10 percent shorts. <br /> e Conduct ultrasonlc testing for the full lenglh of each rail with a 1 inch diameter, 45- <br /> degree probe from the top ol lhe rail head, direded along the length ot the rail, <br /> positioned such lhat the rail base generates lhe back reflection. <br /> PertnA Set 34 71 13-2 <br /> September23, 2011 <br />
