The "Combine" block program, described in Section 3 of
the SWMM manual, was used to combine the hydrographs from
the northwest parking area (Basin 1) and the roof
drainage area (Basin 2). The results produced from
combining the Basin 1 and Basin 2 runoff hydrographs are
given in Appendix E.
C. EVALUATION OF THE SOUTHWEST PARKING AREA, (BASIN 3)
T;ie southwest parking basin area contains the largest of
the three individual basin areas. The total size of the
basin area is approximately 15.93 acres. Of this total
approximately 14.67 acres was considered as paved,
impervious area. The remaining 1.26 acres consists of
pervious area surrounding the biofiltratiun swale.
The longest flow path begins on the southern end of the
basin where surface flow from the parking area is
directed into an inlet structure at CB—A36. Flow is then
directed northward through a series of storm drain pipes
until reaching the beginning of the biofiltration Swale.
At this point runoff is conveyed through the Swale in a
northerly direction until reaching the inlet of the south
detention basin. This point will serve as the point of
analysis for the generation of the peak flow hydrograph
for the southwest basin area. The results are listed in
Table 6.
17
