After the minimum storage volumes were determined, the
requirements for permanent storage in the wet cells was
addressed. In both the north and south ponds, the volume
requirements for permanent storage in the wet cells
could not be met using the pond volumes in the "Extran"
routing program. Therefore, the size of the ponds were
increased to meet the minimum permanent storage volume
requirements.
A. NORTH DETENTION POND
The north detention pond is designed to provide storage
and peak runoff control for storm water runoff occurring
on the northwest parking area and roof drainage from the
proposed 40-04 and 40-06 buildings. The runoff will enter
the basin as shown on SK-C2.0. The results of the peak
rate inflow hydrographs for the 25-year, 24-hour storm (p
events for each of the basin areas are given in Table 4 IhP Id
r5 m a S
and Table 5 of this report. ,The r rirr ce used , pu
for the north -basin -is an orifice controlled stand-pipee
A 7-5/32 inch diameter orifice is used as the primary 0
control device. This orifice is located on the bottom of to
the standpipe with an effective design head of 3.0 feet.
21
