Daily progress report for the week ending December 6, 1968.
December 2, 1968: No work done on this day.
December 3, 1968: Went over in the morning to inspect the foot-
ings that the contractor had dug. He didn t have them all dug as
he had ,just started. The fotings were over the 12" required on
the exterior footing and the depth was 18" so they were all righc.
They were cleaning the footings out so there was no loose material.
There was one place that the footings werent LS" so the contractor
said he'd make sure they were all 18" deep on the exterior. They
were going to pour at 1:00 P.M. so when I went over at 1:00 P.M. ,
one truck had already poured 7 yards out so I aeked the contractor
how come they started before 1:00. He aid it started raining so
hard that he thought he'd better start pouring before the excavated
dirt caved in on the pour for footings. He had another 7 yards
there when I came so I went over to look and there was water about
8" in the bottom of the bootings. Contractor said he would try and
push the water out. I told him that there was too much slush on
the bottom and he wculdn' t be able to get it out and also aides were
caving in on it. He agreed and shut the pour off. But they never
called to tell us of their pouring earlier than planned, they were
pouring in building 12 II. (Cloudy & raining heavy)
December 4, 19G8: On both of the footings in building 12 B, & 1 A,
I had to get after the contractor to clean the ditches out better
and the steel wasn't right in a few places but everything I told
him he fixed with no discrepancy. Had one place in building 1 A,
footings were not quite 18" deep so I had him dig it ogt,
