When access to or within e structure or an area is unduly diffialt �ecausc of secured <br /> openings or where immediate access is necessary for life seving or fire-fighting purposes, <br /> the Fire Department may recommend or require a key box to be instalied in an accessible <br /> location. A rapid entry system may also be desirable in order to avoid unnecessary <br /> demage while making entry to eny building during an emergency situation. <br /> Pleave call 259-8720 for further information. <br /> 30. The Ciry of Everett prohibits outdoor burning. Therefore, outdoor burning for the <br /> purpose of disposing of construction debris or rubbish will not be pemvtted. <br /> 31. Fire hydrants and access roads must be in service prior to commencement of construction. <br /> 32. Fire safery practices during construction must be in compliance with the Unifortn Fire <br /> Code, 1985 Edition, Articic 87, "Firo Safety During Construction." <br /> 33. The Weshington State Clean Air Act requires the use of all known, available, and <br /> reasonable means of controlling air pollution, including dust. Dust generated during <br /> consttuction activities can be controlled by wetting those dust sources such as artas of <br /> exposed soils, weshing truck wheels beforo they leave the site, and installin�and <br /> mamtaining gravel construction entronces. Construction vehicle track-out is also a major <br /> dust source. My evidence of track-out can trigger violations and fines from ihe <br /> Department of Ecology or the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency. <br /> GENERAL INFOltMATION <br /> I. The Police Depertmrnt has the following security recommendetions: <br /> a. Lighting of the parking lot should be a minimum of 3-4 foot candles. <br /> b. A monitored fire and intrusion alerm system zoned for each entity should be <br /> provided. To provide protection in case of armed robbery, include romote panic <br /> buttons and/or foot trip if using customer counter. <br /> c. If offices will be handling cash, an nctual money safe should be installed (for next <br /> day receipts only). Seismic detectore •nd passive infrared alertn sensors should <br /> also be installed in the room. <br /> , d. 'I'heperimeter doon should be solid core or metal with double cyGnder dead-bolts <br /> instelled. [f doors open to the outside, or hinges are erzpoaed, pin hinges should be <br /> provided. <br /> e. If storo front �less doors are part of the project, they should have locking case <br /> bolts top and bottom. The door should have a max►mum security dead-bolt with I <br /> 3/4"throw end 3/4" laminated stal. <br /> f. Metal security bey dooro can be secured with 3/S" case-hardened steel hasps or <br /> chain and padlceks with 1/2" case-herdened stcel shackles. <br /> g. The more office windows that are visible to the parking ares, the safer the area is <br /> from assaults and thefts. <br /> h. If utilizing fencing, it should be 6 feet chain link. <br /> � <br />
