AW
Page 2
LZWM;.
Each conductor was tested individually with cables not under
test grounded. The cables were energized and leakage
current monitored to shield and ground. Tests were
performed in accordance with customer supplied test
specifications.
4.1 Step Voltage Test
The cables were raised in 8kV steps to a maximum test
potential of 64kV. DC leakage current was monitored at
each step after a stabilization time of one (1) minute,
consistent with system charging current.
4.2 Absorption Tests
The cables energized at the 64kV level were monitored
for leakage current at half -minute intervals for the
first minute and then at one minute intervals for a
total of 15 minutes.
4.3 Voltage Decrement Test
At the completion of the absorption test, the potential
was removed from the cables and the voltage and time
monitored as the cable discharged through its
dielectric volume resistance.
5.0 RESULTS
5.1 The test results and evaluation indicate the cables are
satisfactory for energization.
Submitted by,
✓Jim Pallansch
Field Technician
