Note that the till soil at the site is sensitive to changes in moisture content and an be easily disturbed when exposed to water and construction traffic. Care should be taken during construction, particularly during the wet season. Even with precautions, we expect that some portion of the till will require removal and replacement during the compacted filling operations or subsequent excavations where moisture conditions exceed optimum levels. The piles should bear in natural glacial till, the depth of which will vary within the building.
