4. Perform laboratory testing to determine the engineering prop5rties of the subsoils. The
test procedures and results are presented in Appendix B.
5. Examine options and provide recommendations for various methods of foundation
support.
6. Conduct engineering analyses to determine settlement that will occur as a result of
establishing floor at Elevation 545 with a floor load of $00 psf. Provide recommendation
for support of floor slab.
7. Provide recommendations for lateral earth pressures for subsurface walls, turinals, press
pits and utilidors.
1 g. Provide recommendations for compaction criteria and pavement design.
9. Provide a report that presents the results of our investigation and our recommendations.
4.0 SITE
1 4.1 SITE HISTORY
The proposed expansion is located in an area that was previously the upper reach of Powder
Mill Gulch. The gulch was filled in 1966/1%7 during the original development of the Boeing
plant. The predevelopment ground surface contours are shown on Plate 2. As indicated on Plate
2, the main gulch passed through the northeast portion and a branch ravine went through the
w-stern portion of the expansion. Within the am of the proposed expansion, the bottom of the
gulch was about 90 to 110 feet below the current ground surface. The topographic information
was developed from aerial photographs, and the contour locations should therefore be considered
approximate.
I a•005.00695.016%saoa0i00.arp
00M-509.016 3
