The
information received will also indicate if the aircraft is on
,
the desired course or right or left of course.
The relocation of the VOR faciiity a: Paine Field is required
due to the deterioration of performar:e caused by building
construction around the airport. As a result, instrument
approaches to runway 16R and overall VOR coverage have been .
' severely restricted. Future construction planned on and araund
the airport will impact VOR performance to an even greater
- degree. The new location will provide a permanent solution to
this prablem.
F
.i Iy, 0j„Et TRAFFIC PATTERNS
There will be no change in aircraft operations or airspace use
at the airport due to the relocation of the VOR.
, ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
ja, Noise: The pro,ect will not increase the number af
operations on the runway or surrounding airspace and thus will
; not increase the noise in the surrounding environment.
<
`i b. Air Oualitv: During normal operations of this facility, no
; significant air pollutants will be produced.
, c. Water Oualitv: Ground water and surface runoffs in the
area will not be affected by this facility. Water and
: sanitation facilities will not be required. The existing VOR
has an underground fuel s'corage tank which will be removed from
" the site in accordance with state and federal environmental
regulations. The new facility will not require a fuel storage
tank.
d. Solid Waste: This facility wiil require routine
maintenance visits approximately once a month. There will be
- no sulid waste generated after construction.
 e. Fnerav Suoolv: Power will be extended from an existing
source near the facility. No new power generating equipment
will be required to provide commercial power to the site. The
' conslumpti naththePexistingSVORtornabout 4500KWHrabThetnewhe
.v facility will not have backup power (engine-generator) .
,a
p, rr,-rtion Imoacts: The construction period is expected
to last approximately 90 days. Air and noise pollution during
construction will be mnimal as compared with existing airpart
 activities.
. g.
Fcoloaical Svstems: Due to the nature of the airport
environment where the new facility is to be located there are
" na natural-ecological systems to be disturbed or impacted.
