These comments address building issues only, additional <br /> revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Udlities, Planning <br /> or Fire). All references refer to the 1991 Uniform Building Code, as amended by the <br /> State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1991, 2nd Edition, unless <br /> stated otherwise. <br /> 1. Due to the scope of the probable revisions to the plans, this should be considered a <br /> preliminary plan review. Other plan reviews will be required after re-submittal of <br /> plans. <br /> 2. The project as submitted indicates Type VN construction. <br /> Table SD indicates that an El occupancy of Type VN construction is allowed to <br /> be a maximum of 40 feet in height and one story: With an increase allow..d by <br /> Sec. 507 for a fully sprinklered building, a maxim�m of two storics would be <br /> allowed. <br /> The existing building is classified as Type III-1 Hour construction as indicated on <br /> the certificate of occupancy issued Sep[ember 3, 1981. <br /> The 1-Hour construction was achieved through the use of lath and p]aster <br /> consuucdon over wood framing members. As your drawings indicate removal of <br /> this plaster, another form of conswction must be subshtuted to provide the <br /> various levels of protection listed in Table 17-A, Chapters 18 through 20. <br /> 3. The occupant load calculated for the third floor is 655 occupants.
