The exhaust air
quantity will, be a•minimum of one exhaust air change per each ten minute
interval. A remote annunciation panel will enable fire fighters to manually
control the mechanical air handling system.
Code Requirement
Per the 1991 uniform Building Code section 1807 c-B:
In seismic zones 2,3 & 4 in addition to the main water supply a secondary
on site supply of water equal to the hydraulically calculated sprinkler design
demand plus 100 gpm gallons per minute, additional for the total standpipe
system shall be provided. This suppiyshall be automatically available if the
principal supply fails and shall have a duration of 30 minutes. •
proposed System Design:
Because the project is located in a seismic zone 3 a secondary water
source will be provided. The proposed design is to provide a domestic
water connection to the fire sprinkler water service piping. This connection
will serve as a secondary water source to the fire sprinkler system in the
event of a fire water service line failure (sea Sketch 2). The secondary water
connection will be installed per the requirements of the City of Everett for
backflow prevention.
.
