Rage 2
I
WHAT AMOUNT OF VEHICLE PARKING SPACE WILL BE NEEDFD TO ACCOMMODATE
CUSTOMERS OF FIDELITY MUTUAL SAVINGS BANK?
The actual usage of vehicle parking space at existing savings
institutions, interpreted appropriately for the Fidelity location, gives
the amount that will be needed. There are three savings offices in the
central business district of Everett which provide on -site parking for
their customers:
Everett Federal Savings & Loan Assoc., 1502 Wall Street
Pioneer-lst Federal Savings & Loan Assoc., 2628 Colby Avenue
Washington Mutual Savings Bank, 3102 Colby Avenue
A tabulation of actual parking space usage at those offices is shown
in illustration 1. During the period of March 16 through March 29, 1979
counts were taken four times each business day and the numbers of custo-
mer vehicles parked were tabulated. The range in the number parked at
one time at the three locations is from 0 to 11.2.
Because the number of vehicle parking spaces needed to serve savings
bank customers is related in part to total savings volume the following
analysis of that relationship is made. The total savings volumes of the
three institution offices are the following:
Everett Federal Savings & Loan Assoc. $40,000,000
Pioneer-lst Federal Savings & Loan Assoc. $70,000,000
Washington Mutual Savings Bank $40,000,000
Referring to the summary figures at the end of Illustration 1 for the
largest numbers of vehicles parked, it follows that the numbers of cus-
tomer vehicles parked at one time in relation to the volumes of savings
are these:
Dollars of savings
per vehicle parked
Everett Federal Savings & Loan Assoc.
($40,000,000 - 7) $5,714,286
Pioneer -1st Federal Savings & Loan Assoc.
($70,000,000 -, 11.2) $6,250,000
Washington Mutual Savings Bank
($40,000,000 r 11) $3,636,363
