Greg Moore, Water Conservation Manager City of Everett 3200 Cedar Street Everett, WA 98201 Re: Irrigation Audits and Equipment Upgrades Proposals Dear Greg: Thank you for the opportunity to apply for water conservation grants again in 2003. I have included four proposals for the consideration by the local water utilities committee: 1. Purchase of Rainbird'Maxicom central control system and sat site cards for at least two sites that were audited last year, Mountlake Terrace Senior High School and Meadowdale Senior High School. 2. Audit and make alterations to the irrigation systems at Edmonds Woodway Senior High School. 3. Audit and make alterations to the irrigation system at Alderwood Middle School. 4. Purchase of 20 Rainbird 5000+ sprinkler heads , 80 3/4" street ells and 20 1" x 3/4" threaded bushings for Mountlake Terrace Senior High School to complete the elimination of impact rotors on the front lawns. The Edmonds School District has had a long term commitment to conservation. We have tracked water usage for many years and utilize that system to identify unusual water usage and trace the source of leaks in order to make appropriate repairs. Most recently we identified a 300 unit increase at Brier Terrace Middle School in one billing period and set forth resources to locate and repair the leak. Each of our irrigation technicians has attended Irrigation Associates auditing, design and maintenance classes thus providing our staff with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain effective and efficient irrigation systems and to pursue further water conservation measures. We have slowly been working towards a central control system for our irrigation system. We have invested extensively in Rainbird ESP-MC controllers. This year every controller at our senior and middle schools will be ESP-MC clocks. We utilize the Premgar calculator on the WSU web site to estimate current ET and utilize the ESP-MC controllers programming versatility to attempt to water based on current need. We have purchased remote cards for the ESP-MC controllers from TRC with remote delay technology, .OUR MISSION.
