I�^-'-._, .. <br /> 32. Trash Callection: Dumpster over 1.5 cubic yards capaciry shall be located a minimum of <br /> 5 feet from the building(LJFC I 1.302(b), 1991 Edition. <br /> 33. The Washington State Clean Air Act requires the use of all known, available, and <br /> reasonable means of controlling air pollution, including dust. Dust generated during <br /> construction activities can be controlled by wetting those dust sources such as areas of <br /> exposed soils, washing truck wheeis before they leave the site, and installing and <br /> maintaining gravel construction entrances. Construction vehicle track-out is also a major <br /> dust source. Any evidence of track-out can trigger violations and fines from the <br /> Department of Ecology or the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency. <br /> GENERAL INFORMATION <br /> 1. The Police Department has the following security recommendations: <br /> a. Lighting of lhe parking lot should be a minimum of 3-4 foot candles. <br /> b. A monitored fire and intrusion alarm system zoned for each entity should be <br /> provided. To provide protection in case of armed robbery, include remote panic <br /> buttons and/or foot trip if usins customer counter. <br /> c. If oflices will be handling cash, an actual money safe should be installed (for next <br /> day receipts only). Seismic detectors and passive infrared alarm sensors should <br /> also be installed in the room. <br /> d. The perimeter doors should be solid core or metal with double cylinder dead-bolts <br /> installed. If doors open to the outside, or hinges are exposed, pin hinges should be <br /> provided. <br /> e. If store front glass doors are part of the project, they should have locking case <br /> bolts top and bottom. The cloor should have a maximum security dead-bolt with <br /> one 3/4" throw and 3/4" lamii�ated steel. <br /> f. �4etal security bay doors can be secured with 3/8" case-hardened steel hasps or <br /> chain and padlocks with I/2" case-hardened steel shackles. <br /> g. The more office windows that are visible to the parking area, the safer the area is <br /> from assaults and thefts. <br /> h. If utilizing fencing, it should be 6 feet chain link. <br /> i. During the final stages of construr.tion, ple� se contact Dick Thornberry, Crime <br /> Prevention OfTicer, at ?59-0416 for further security recommendations. <br /> 7 <br />
