Expenditure Required $ -0- Account Number(s): Amount Budgeted $ -0- Additional Required $ -0- DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: City Council initially approved a special prepaid fare program for the U.S. Navy on March 1,2000. Subsequently it has been renewed annually. The Navy would like to renew the agreement for another year, effective March 5,2004. Due to decreased participation in the program the Navy will pay $16,000 for the next year of service. This is a net reduction of$8,000 from the current agreement and is consistent with Everett Transit's fifty-two cents (.52) average fare per boarding. The United States Navy Morale,Welfare and Recreation Fund (MWRF agrees to pay Everett Transit$1,333.33 per month for one year,for unlimited access to bus service provided by Everett Transit. The service is offered to all persons displaying a Navy military identification card. The following are qualified persons: active duty, their dependents, reserve and retired Navy personnel. RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to sign the Ridership Fare Agreement between the United States Navy and Everett Transit. 100
