•
4
Tardiness: In the case of tardy behavior; first offense, warning; second offense, another
verbal warning; third offense, removal from the boat and the same rules as unexcused
absence apply.
12
Excused Absences: may cause a rower to be removed from his seat in a boat. This will be
the coach's decision.
Regatta Protocol
Everett Rowing Junior Crew student athletes are expected to adhere to the following
when attending regattas:
1. Rowers are to remain in the general meeting area during the entire regatta. Students
wishing to leave the area must receive permission first.
2. Team members are expected to travel with the team. Late arrivals or early departures
will be permitted only with coach permission
3_ Students who do not abide by these guidelines will be disciplined as outlined in the
general misbehavior section.
4. Junior rowers are expected to stay until the trailer is loaded after the regatta and meet
at the boathouse at a specified time to unload. or as directed by their coach.
Junior Nationals: Junior teams that qualify by coming in 1st or 2nd at the Northwest
Regional Regatta may go to the Junior USRA National Regatta. If a member of the
regional boat is unable to go to the National Regatta they could be replace, but no more
than 1/2 of the original seating can be replaced.vAll rowers who qualify in a boat will stay
in that boat. At the coaches discretion and with good reason, they could petition USRA
to allow an entry and within 48 hours of the petition would have to have the ERA Council
approval. The petition would then be removed if the Council does not approve. The ERA
will pay for the entry fees and coaching before travel, but the rest of the trip expenses
would be the responsibility of the participants and their families and would include travel
expenses, equipment rental/travel, lodging, and food. At the time of planning the Council
could award the team with additional financial assistance.
25
