EMC permits the Applicant to construct a structure up to 1,000 <br />square feet in area, or 500 square feet per story, which would exceed the <br />standard size for a two-car garage by 100 square feet and wouid adequately <br />provide for the paricing of vehicles on the upper story and in the driveway access <br />from the alley and a hobby shop/storage area on the lower level. The <br />ApplicanYs stated concerns in regard to vehicle and driver safety are addressed <br />by a sVucture of this size. <br />DECISION <br />Based upon the preceding Findings of Fact and Conclusions and testimony and <br />evidence submitted at the public hearing, it is hereby ordered that the variance <br />requested from EMC 19.7.020(H), allowing for a maximum building height of 22 feet 2 <br />inches is granted, subject to the conditions stated below; and the variance requested <br />from EMC 19.7.020(B), seeking a total square footage for the accessory structure of <br />1,356 square feet, is denied. The accessory structure shall have a footprint of no <br />greater than 500 square feet and shall not exceed 1,000 square feet for both floors. <br />1.
