s • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION reducing the speed limit from 30 mph to 25 mph on <br /> the arterial route comprising Lowell Road, from Broadway to South 3rd <br /> Avenue; South 3`d Avenue, from Lowell Road to Lenora Street; and <br /> Lenora Street,from South 3`d Avenue to South ls`Avenue. <br /> WHEREAS, RCW 46.61.415 and WAC 308-330-270 grant the City Council the <br /> authority to alter speed limits by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, traffic engineering staff has: conducted an engineering and traffic <br /> investigation and determined that the existing speed limit is greater than is reasonable and <br /> safe; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department supports a speed limit change on the above street <br /> segments; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Transportation Advisory Committee has reviewed the staff <br /> recommendations and recommends that the speed limit be changed; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT that the speed limit on Lowell Road, from Broadway to South 3`d Avenue; <br /> South 3`d Avenue, from Lowell Road to Lenora Street; Lenora Street, from South 3`d <br /> Avenue to South 1.s`Avenue be reduced from 30 mph to 25 mph, and that the City Traffic <br /> Engineer shall order and install such signs, markings and devices as are necessary to <br /> effect this change. <br /> Councilperson Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED THIS day of , 2004. <br /> Council President <br /> 1 0 <br />
