SECTION 00020 <br /> 4 <br /> NOTICE TO BIDDERS <br /> Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals for the Everett Portal 3 Relocation Project at Chaplain <br /> Reservoir will be received at the office of the City Clerk, 1st Floor Wall Street Building, 2930 <br /> Wetmore,Everett, Washington 98201,until 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday,August 3`d, 2004. At the appointed <br /> time, all bids will be opened and publicly read aloud in the Public Meeting Room of the Wall Street <br /> Building. The engineer's estimate for this project is $1.5 million. <br /> The character and scope of the work may include, but is not limited to the summary of work as <br /> specified in Section 01010. The Portal 3 Relocation work involves construction of major water supply <br /> facilities, including a 70 foot deep shaft, a 60-inch potable water force main and tie-in, connection to <br /> an existing tunnel, and related features. <br /> A pre-bid walk-through is scheduled at 9:00 in the morning on Tuesday, July 13th, at the Everett Water <br /> Filtration Plant, 6133 Lake Chaplain Road, Sultan, Washington, 98294. Plan on 2 to 3 hours for the <br /> site visit. It is required that all prospective bidders attend the pre-bid walk-through. <br /> Plans, specifications, addenda, and plan holders list for this project may be viewed or ordered on- <br /> line from Builders Exchange at http://wwx.bxwa.com/public/everett.htmk The City of Everett <br /> strongly encourages contractors to register for the bidder's list kept at Builder's Exchange of <br /> Washington, Inc. Builder's Exchange is located at 2607 Wetmore Avenue, Everett, WA 98201. <br /> Their phone number is 425-258-1303. Any addenda to the contract documents will be posted on the <br /> Builders Exchange website; it is the bidder's responsibility to ensure they have acquired all <br /> addenda prior to submitting a bid <br /> For technical questions regarding this project, contact John McClellan, P.E., Project Manager, City of <br /> Everett, at 425-257-8800, ext. 7214. <br /> All proposals must be made upon the regular forms provided for this purpose and must be <br /> accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total <br /> amount(s) of the bid(s). A one hundred percent (100%) Corporate Surety Performance Bond will be <br /> required of the successful bidder to guarantee-faithful performance of the contract. <br /> The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities. <br /> No bidder may withdraw his bid after the hour set for the opening thereof. The City further reserves <br /> the right to make the bid award as deemed in the best interest of the City.
