January 11, 2017 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 6:30 p.m., January 11, 2017, in the City Council Chambers of the William <br /> E. Moore Historic City Hall, Council President Tuohy presiding. Upon roll <br /> call, it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, <br /> Moore, Murphy, Franklin, Bader, and Tuohy were present. Council <br /> Member Stonecipher was excused. <br /> Fire Chief Murray Gordon led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> OATH OF OFFICE <br /> Mayor Stephanson introduced newly appointed Fire Chief Eric Hicks. The <br /> Mayor also recognized Fire Chief Murray Gordon for his many years of <br /> service. <br /> Fire Chief Gordon commented on the appointment of Fire Chief Hicks. <br /> The Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office to Fire Chief Hicks. <br /> Mayor Stephanson presented the new Fire Chief with his badge. <br /> Fire Chief Eric Hicks stated he was honored to accept the appointment <br /> and thankful for the opportunity. <br /> The minutes of the January 4, 2017, City Council meeting were approved <br /> as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson spoke about his annual meeting with legislators in <br /> Olympia. He thanked Council Members Murphy, Roberts and Franklin for <br /> joining him. <br /> Council President Tuohy, on behalf of the Everett City Council and others, <br /> expressed appreciation to past Council President Murphy for his service <br /> and presented him with a plaque in recognition of his service as City <br /> Council President. <br /> 8 <br />
