The County will distribute approximately$60,000 of equipment to the City, including a respirator voice amplification system, respirator masks and filters, chemical protective suits, and forensic video analysis system. To accept the equipment, the City must agree to be responsible for maintenance and storage,hold the federal and state agencies harmless, and provide various certifications related to lobbying, anti-discrimination, etc. No City matching funds are needed or required. RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to accept distribution of equipment from Snohomish County pursuant to a grant from the federal Department of Homeland Security's Office of Domestic Preparedness for the purchase and distribution of equipment to enhance preparedness to combat terrorism and to execute the documents necessary to accept such equipment. 8
