The County will distribute approximately$60,000 of <br /> equipment to the City, including a respirator voice amplification system, respirator masks and filters, <br /> chemical protective suits, and forensic video analysis system. To accept the equipment, the City must agree <br /> to be responsible for maintenance and storage,hold the federal and state agencies harmless, and provide <br /> various certifications related to lobbying, anti-discrimination, etc. No City matching funds are needed or <br /> required. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to accept distribution of equipment from Snohomish County <br /> pursuant to a grant from the federal Department of Homeland Security's Office of Domestic Preparedness for <br /> the purchase and distribution of equipment to enhance preparedness to combat terrorism and to execute the <br /> documents necessary to accept such equipment. <br /> 8 <br />
