s y s3
0 cs ?.005
CITY OF EVPRETT
rtannlnc Dept.
City of Everett Planning Department
City Hall-Everett, Washington 2 5 05
Regarding the building height code change for Rucker Avenue;
1. Please send the Bargreen Coffee Company a letter from the City Attorney stating
that we have the right to keep roasting coffee at 2821 Rucker.
2. We are a small roaster with only one medium.batch roasting machine and several
small roasters for specialty roasts, like white coffee.
3. Our customers and friends say we add to the livability of Everett.
4. WE have been roasting at the same location since Grandpa Bargreen built the new
plant at 2821 Rucker, next to his horse barn.
5. Times change. There have been cities that have outlawed coffee roasters and
even coffee houses. Now, most cities, like Portland and Seattle, see the numerous
new coffee plants as an important part of the cities' culture and ambiance.
6. Please recognize Bargreen Coffee as an attribute of the city by guaranteeing that
we can continue our business at our 95 year old location.
Sincerely,
Howie Bargreen'
' D
