100
HO P.-----??;;. The H . O . SEIFFERT COMPANY YEARS . _
SEIFFERT
o 1901-2001
y•
February 8, 2005 Y Op .
!n
r"fly -
Everett Planning and Community Development Dept
2930 Wetmore Ave, Suite 8-A
Everett, WA 98201
Re: Proposed DNS Height Regulation Amendments
I am writing in support of the proposed action for rezone (C-1 to B-3) of portions
of the east side of Rucker Avenue between Everett Ave. and Pacific Ave. As I will be
unable to attend the planning commission public hearing on March 22, I wanted pass on
my thoughts on what seems to be a logical amendment to the current zoning height
restrictions in the downtown core.
Our "historic register" property designation and the financial viability of any
building modifications, considering its age and condition, would likely restrict our ability
to take advantage of any increased building height limits. With our without this zoning
change, our plan is to keep our property (Everett Downtown Storage Bldg) located @
3007 Rucker Ave. operating indefinitely as a self-storage facility.
As this proposed change would likely allow for and encourage higher density
residential development, I believe it is in the best interest of property owners and retail
businesses in downtown Everett. Our growth as a city, county and region in the twenty
first century requires higher density commercial and residential development. I believe
that sensible zoning changes within downtown core will help to promote a more active,
vibrant city from which all our citizens will bereft,
As a property owner affected by this change, I fully support the proposed height
regulation amendments as described in your January 25 notice.
Sincerely,___
Pat Sievers -President
The H.O.
