Gary L. My eisner
1906 Colby Avenue #8 i
Everett, Washington 98201-2298
March 4, 2005 45 ! Is ,
i
F
j
!..'rte C' 4 2005
Mr. Earl Dutton, Chairman CITY OF E ERE.- T
City of Everett Planning Commission ► ? : .
2930 Wetmore Avenue, Suite 8-A
Everett, Washington 98201
Dear Chairman Dutton and Members of the Planning Commission:
There is currently a proposed amendment to the City of Everett zoning code
pending before your organization. This action changes the C-1 portion on the
East side of Rucker Avenue between Everett Avenue and Pacific Avenue to
13-3. The purpose of this proposed change is to permit structures up to 150
feet to be constructed in the changed area.
The purpose of this letter is to express my support for this change and ask
the Planning Commission to vote in the affirmative.
The uptown section of the city benefits when quality, market rate housing is
built creating a full time living and working environment.
Additionally this type of development uses existing infrastructure investment
efficiently, reduces automobile trip incidence, and is in the spirit of the
Growth Management Act.
There is obviously some concern about quality of development, but this a
design issue, not affected by height limitations. The proponents of this
change have an excellent record of constructing quality buildings, and good
management practices. They deserve the city's encouragement.
Sincerely,
•
_Gary LJlieisner
