January 18, 2017 <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council <br /> Member Stonecipher who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Moore thanked the Mayor for his State of the City <br /> Address earlier in the morning. He also thanked the Mayor for his <br /> leadership moving forward with the Purdue lawsuit. <br /> Council Member Roberts also thanked the Mayor for his leadership. He <br /> provided an update from the General Government Subcommittee meeting <br /> held this evening, where they presented a draft of overall findings from the <br /> Subcommittee, including ideas of districting and engagement within the <br /> community. He also provided an update from his attendance at the Puget <br /> Sound Regional Council Transportation Policy Board meeting, where <br /> greenhouse gas emission structure was discussed. <br /> Council Member Murphy requested an update from the Fire Department <br /> and Administration regarding fire alarm compliance in apartment buildings <br /> because of public safety concerns resulting from a December 2015 fire in <br /> an apartment. <br /> Debra Bryant, Administration, stated she would work with Fire Chief Hicks <br /> to bring back an update in two to three weeks. <br /> Council Member Murphy commented on his attendance at the State of the <br /> City Address, and thanked the Mayor for recapping accomplishments of <br /> the past year and highlighting future work to achieve. <br /> Council Member Bader thanked the Mayor for the State of the City <br /> Address. He also thanked Council Member Roberts for leading the <br /> General Government Subcommittee meeting and the comments he <br /> shared. <br /> Council Member Franklin thanked the Mayor for taking legal action against <br /> Purdue Pharma. She encouraged anyone interested in the Lodging Tax <br /> 17 <br />
