January 18, 2017 <br /> grants to apply before the deadline, which is Wednesday, February 1, by 5 <br /> p.m. She announced the Everett Reads program will host a "Beyond the <br /> Streets" event at the Everett Performing Arts Center, February 10, at 7 <br /> p.m. where author David Sheff will speak about his book, "Beautiful Boy." <br /> She stated that the public comment period for supportive housing will <br /> begin soon and postcards to community members will be going out. <br /> Comments can also be submitted on the City website. <br /> President Tuohy thanked the Mayor for his State of the City Address and <br /> for standing up for the community with the Purdue Pharma lawsuit. She <br /> commented on her new liaison assignment to the Senior Center and her <br /> first visit to the Center. <br /> ADMINISTRATION UPDATE ON PRIOR BUSINESS <br /> Debra Bryant, Administration, had no report. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney Iles had no comments. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Lois Wentink, Barbara Eklund, M.J. Donovan-Creamer, Brenda Bolanos- <br /> Ivory, Megan Dunn, Mary Rollins, Janice Greene, all of Everett, spoke in <br /> favor of districting for future City Council elections and seats. <br /> Francis Craven and Debbie Warfield, both of Everett, thanked the Mayor <br /> and Council for bringing forward the lawsuit against Purdue Pharma. <br /> B. Doug Young, Everett, did not come forward to speak. <br /> Brenda Bolanos-Ivory, Everett, spoke about the importance of OxyContin <br /> for people with disabilities for pain control. <br /> 18 <br />
