  b Ei
ba y L-1 .
q R
Cy M
t HC fn
H2' i-Si F 7,..
K y z n ra1ECT AND S1TE DFSCRTPTtON
0 n ` This report was completcd with an understanding of the project based on a schematic site plan
z i dated Decembcr 14, 1990 providr.d by Foodmaker, Inc. Present plans call for Ihe single-story,
L° approximalely 2320 square foot strucwre to uulize conventional, wood-frame construction with
°z n o a slab•on-gnde 11oor. The restaurent wi11 be located at the soulhern end of the FropertY. The
n =° R T Iack In The Box designation for this swcture is MK7IIRS. Sitc development wll also mdude
z H '`" construction of asphait paved parking arcas and a concrete driveihru lane and garbage
y dumpster enclosure. Fimsh floor and parking gsades were not available at the time of ths
y "` reporL However, according to Mt. Martinez, ste grading is planned to be near the grade of
 o m Evergreen Way.
y vt°+ `• The property studicd was located in the 4700 block of L-vergreen Way, immediately north of
° ` Wilmington Avenue in Everelt, V1'ashington. The property was bounded to the wes[ by
Evcrgrec:n Way, to the south by Wilmington Avenue, and lo the north and east by undeveloped
- portions of a proposed shopping center. The parcel measured approximately 120 feet east-wr,t
by 235 feet north-south. The site was relatively level with a very gentle southwestedy dippw
` slope along the northern and eastern portions of the property. The slope gradients were
measured in the field with a Brunton and found to be less than 6 percent. The southeastern
portion of the site was at the lowcst elevation. It apQcared that sur(ace waler had collected in
this area previously. Tota] elevation change across the subect site was on the order of 6 (eet.
^ Fiii soil was observed on the surface of thc property along with some minor wood and concrete
debris. Most of the property surface appeared lo have becn lhinly covered with gravel at one
' time. The property contamed no significant vegetadon.
` While onsite to conduct the field work, a City of Evcrett utility official located a northwest-
I ' sout'ieast trending, abandoned, concrete, sanitary sewer pipe. It s our understanding that the
', sewr. pipe is buried approximately 11 to 14 feet below the ground surface and used lo be
r" overlan by Wilmington Avenue. It appears that the sewer pipe may be located under the
proposed bmlding area. In addition, an abandoned section ot a 6 inch diameter, buried, cast
iron water main appears to be located near the proposed southwest building comer as shown on
maps provided by the Ciry of L-verelt official. According to these maps, Wilmington Avenue
i used to cross over the soathwest corner of the property. The street has since been re-aligned
+ to a location along the south property line. Approximale locations of the sewer and water lines
I aze shown on Figure 1 attached to thu report.
p crinSURFACE EXPI.ORATION
. Our field study induded excavating a series of exploration pits and performing a geologic
reconnaissance to gain information about the site. The various types of sediments, as well as
' the depths where characteristics of the seeiiments changed, aze indicated on the exploration logs
,1 • presented in the Appendix. The depths indicated on the logs where conditions changed may
represent gradational variatiens betwecn sediment :ypes in the ficld. Our explorations were
approximately located in the field by mcasuring from known site fea[ures shown on the
aforementioned schematic site plan. A topographic survey was not available at the time of our
I `., field work. Howcver, a survey was obtained from Barghauscn Consulting Engincers, Inc.
\ dated March 7, 1991 after the field work was completed.
2
