. _
3. GTE Northwest Incorporated has facilities, near this location. However, any
buildinp entrances must be coordinated at least 60 days in advance. The cost of
any relocatior, of GTE facilities that is required to construct the new apartments
will be at the total expense of the developer. My relocation wili take 60 to 120
days. Please contaG Debbie Condron, Engineer-OSP at 356053 if yau have
any questions reyardinfl this building entrance.
4. Although little is knovm of the history of this structure, it would very iikely be
eligible for the Everett Register, because of its age, more than 50 years, its
architectural interest and because it is unique in being a historical residential
structure in the midst of commercial strip development. The Everett Historical
Commission would be pleased t undertake the necessary research to document
the struciure and consider a nomination.
Because this is a unique structure, particular attention should be paid to
retainin the historic residential character of the house. The surrounding
development, in particular the daycare center, should be designed to
complement the historic residence. If possible the parking and access rcad
across the front should be reconfigured and landscaped to showcase the
eritryway to the renovated building. Originally, there was probably lawn in the
front.
Consideration should be Qiven to planting trees in a treelawn between the street
and the new sidewalk. This would provide a buffer from the heavy traffic on
Evergreen Way for pedestrians and Vansit riders. The separation would also
prowde a bit of safety for those on the street with children coming and going to
the daycare facility.
The Historical Commission worked with the architecture fiRn Stickney and
Murphy and Housing Hope on the Commerce Building and would enoy
consulting with them again on this project.
5. GTE Northwest Incorporated will provide service to the site. However, new
telephone ceble construction will be required in conjunction with the site
development. GTE's engineering will begin when they are notified of your
construction schedules and telephone requirements.
It will be the developers responsibility to provide a suitable combination of
conduit and trenching and/or risFr conduit to accommodate GTE's network
communications cable within the complex. Provided that an acceptable
combinaton of conduit and/oc trenching is incorporated into the project to
accommodate GTE's entrance cible, there will be no costs to the developer for
GTE's cable.
If a rearrangement of existing cables on premises or on ihe right-of-way is
necessary, appropriate charges will be estimated and GTE's Guaranty of
Payment form will be forvvarded to you for your signature. Prior to
commencement of GTE's enginesring for such rearrangement, a deposit will be
required. To insure timely telephone service, GTE requests ninety (90) days
lead time for engineermg, procurement, and installation of cable and/or GTE's
equipment.
,
Please cantact Michael Hupf, Senior Engineer, at 356-4052 should you require
additional information.
13
