1
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING STUDY
PROP05ED Walgreens
MADISON STREET AND EVERGREEN WAY
EVERETT, WASHINGTON

INTRODU TC ION
General
This report presents the results of the geotechnical engineering study completed by Earth
Consultants, Inc. (ECIj for the proposed Walgreens, Madison Street and Evergreen Way,
Everett, Washington. The general location of the site is shown on the Vicinity Map, Plate 1.
The purpose of this study was to explore the subsurface conditions at the site and based on
the conditions encountered to develop geotechnical recommendations for the proposed site
development.
Proj.ect Description
11e understand it is planned to develap the subject site with a Walgreens Store. At the time
our study was performed, the site, proposed building location, existing building locations, and
our exploratory locations were approximately as shown on the Boring Location Plan, Plate 2.
The proposed store will be one-stry in height and will be of concrete masonry unit
construction with a slab-on-grac'c floor. Based on cur experience with this type of
construction, we estimate wall loads will be in the range of three to four kips per lineal foot,
with column loads of sixty (601 to eighy (80) kips, and slab-on-grade floor loads of two
hundred fifty 1250) pounds per square foot.
We anticipate the building will be constructed at or near existing site grades. The building will
be surrounded by asphalt paved parking and drive areas. A truck loading e!I is planned on
the south side of the store.
If any of the above design criteria are incorrect or change, we should be consu:ted to review
the recommendations contained in this report. In any case, ECI should be retained to perform
a general review of the final design.
Frth Conultnn, Inc.
