4. Outlets from the tank area shall have positive control to prevent uncontrolled dischar�e from the tank <br />area of spilled chemicals or petroleum products. <br />5. The outlet shall have a dead-end sump for the collection of small spills. It shall be cleaned weekly to <br />minimize the potential for contamination of stormwater and/or eround water. <br />6. During the wet season, accumulated storm�vater shall be released frequently. <br />7. For petroleum tank farms, the storinwater shall pass throuoh an API or CP-type oiUwater separator in <br />addition to other requirements. <br />S. If a tank is to he located in an area where firearms may be dischar�ed, concrete encapsulation (or <br />equivalent) should be used to protect the inner tank. <br />9. Tanks should be guarded a�ainst vehicles through the use of bollards or traffic barriers. <br />10. All installa[ions shall be done per thz Uniform Fire Code and the National Electric Code. <br />S�IALL PORTABLE TANK STORAGE <br />1. A secondary container that completely encloses the tank sliall be used whenever liquids are temporarily <br />stored in a portable tank. <br />2. When liquids are permanently stored in portable tanks, the containment system shall be a bermed <br />impervious area (using either heaw mil plastic or Portland cement). The minimum storage volume shall <br />be 100% of the total tank volume. <br />3. IF a tank is to be located in an area where firearms may be dischar�ed, concrete encapsulation (or <br />equivalent) should be used to protect the inner tank. <br />4. Tanks should be ouarded aaainst vehicles throu�h the use of bollards or tra�c barriers as appropriate. <br />�. All tank installations should be per the Uniform Fire Code and the National Electric Code. <br />TE�IPORAFiY TAD1K STORAGE <br />Temporary fuel tanks used to fuel vehicles in the field shall be placed in a bermed, impervious (usins heaw mil <br />plastic or Portland cemznt) area.
