3. The area on which the transfer takes place shall be paved. If the liquid is reactive with asphalt (for <br />erample, gasoline) Portland cement concrete shall be used to pave the azea. <br />4. The Vansfer area shall be �raded or bermed to prevent the run-on of stormwater from adjacent areaz. <br />�. Trench or valley drains shall be located at the perimeter of the transfer azea along the down-hill side. <br />6. The drains shall route any runoffor spills throush a spi11 containment swcture consisting of a vault or <br />Iarge catch basin/manhole with 250 eallons of Irve storaoe capaciry. The spill containment structure <br />shall discharse to the storm drainage system. ` <br />7. The outlet of the spill containment structure shall be equipped with an AFL/Clark Oil Stop valve, or <br />approved equal, that allows passage of water but not of the product being u�ansferred. <br />3. The lid of the spill containment structure shall be desi�ned to vent vapors to the atmosphere and shall be <br />constructed of non-sparkin� materiaL <br />9. Drip pans shall be placed at locations where spilla�e mav occur such as oose connections, hose reels and <br />filler noules. Drip pans shall alwsys be used when malcin� and breakin� connections. <br />10. An audible alarm system, trigsered by a liquid level sensor, shall be desi�ned and installed to alert an <br />attendant when the tank has been filled to 95% capacirv. <br />I 1. The followin� practices are to complement, not conflict with the liniform Fire Code. The tank shall include an ove�ll protection system to minimize the risk ofspillage durin� filling. <br />3. Permanently installed tanks shall be surrounded by dikes or berms. The dike or bertn shall be of <br />sufficient heieht to provide a volume that is the ereater of either 10% of the total enclosed tank volume <br />or 110% of the volume con[ained in the laroest tank. <br />3.
