;, <br />RIiPORT OF STRUCTURAL INVESTIGATION <br />PACKWOOD PONTIAC AGENCY BUILDING <br />�3�� EVERGREEN Wpy� E��TT, WASHINGTON <br />1• INTRGDUCTION <br />1.1 Purpose and Scope <br />This report contains the resulte of field investiga[ions and etructural <br />calculations together with engineering concluaions and recommendati,one <br />pertaining to [he s[ructural integrity of the Packwood Pontiac Agency <br />Building complex, �300 Evergreen Way, Everett, Washington. <br />The purpose oF [his lnvestigation is to diacover the structural aystems <br />of the existing buildicig complex, determine whether in our opinion tl�ey <br />are safe and, if they are not considered safe, to reco�end reroadial <br />actions. The ultimate oLjec[ive is the issuance oF a building pezv�it <br />for an addition 6y the City of Everett. <br />Authorizat�on [o proceed with this investigation was given orally <br />by hfr. David Nasman of F.verett Truet and Savings Bank of October 18, 1972 <br />and confirmed by carit[en agreement da[ed October 20, 1972, <br />1•Z Deacription of Buildinp� Complex <br />The building complex consis[s of four contiguous structures constructed <br />at several differen[ times. From west (EronL•) to east these are the Showroom <br />Building, Service En[ry, Parts Area and Shop qreg, <br />The Showroom Building is a frame s[ructure which was moved to the present <br />location several years ago by Newland Conetruction Co. of Everett and <br />erected on a new daylight storage basemen[ with concrete walle aP three <br />sides. The Service Entry building is two-story frame conatruction with <br />offices on the upper level and wae apparently constructed in the preaent <br />location. The Parts Area building is baeically one-story frame construcL•ion <br />with a partial second story extending over a small part of the roof. T}�e <br />Shop Area building is one story with a frame roof supported by concrete <br />piera and masonry bearing walls. <br />More detailed structural descriptions of each building are given later <br />in this report. <br />1.3 Renort Limi[ations <br />The analysis, conclusiona and recommendations contained in thie repozt <br />are bused on conditions as they presently exiet and further aseume that <br />the structural conditione examined in each building are repreaentativa of <br />that bulldinR• That is, that hidden structural conditions are not signi- <br />ficuntly different from these disclosed by the investigatic.m, If, during <br />structural modifications, atructural conditions different from [hose ahosm <br />in the drawings are ohserved or appear to be present, we ahould be adviaed <br />sG ance SQ that we can review these conditions and reconaider our <br />1 7,�cJ� �1.,�.-' :' �;j z cc_, � <br />R <br />� <br />. <br />
