This elevation change is on <br />the order of thirteen feet. After some preliminary liand borings on site to- <br />gether tiith detailed subsurface inforniation froin test borings ncar tlie <br />site, it �•�as decided that backhoe test pits vrould properly confirm the <br />anticipated subsurface conditions. Tl�is metliod vrould alleviate tlie <br />necessity of large scale clearing to provide access for a truck-mounted <br />drilling unit. A teleplione conversation viitii James I:ent on tiie 15tfi of <br />November confirnied this decision. <br />Test pi�t locations were chosen to best represent the subsurface condi- <br />cions over the �•ihole site and especially in the area of the proposed <br />building.
