Installation <br />Do nol install Ihe GS56, G�42 and GS28 in ceilings which <br />have positive pressure in ihe space above. <br />• Cut a 25�" inch (67mm) diameier hde is cul in the ceiling, Ihe <br />sprinkler is easily installed wi�h the Model FC Wrench. The <br />wrench has a socket drive which is inserted into the body of <br />ihe sprinklec When installing a sprinkler the wrench is �irst <br />positioned inlo Ihe sprinkledcup assembly unlil Ihe wrench <br />socket engages ihe body ol ihe sprinkler. The sprinkler is <br />ihen lightened into Ihe pipe fitling. When inserting or remov <br />ing the wrench from ihe sprinWedcup assembly, care should <br />6e laken to prevenl damage to the spnnkler. DO NOT <br />WRENCH ON ANY OTHER PART OF Tl-IE SPRINKLER/ <br />CUP ASSEMBLY Install the cover plate by hand turning ihe <br />cover in the clockwise direction unlil rt is tight against ihe ceil- <br />ing. <br />A proleclNe cap is provided to protect the droErdown spnnkler <br />defledor (rom damage which couid occur during consUuction <br />belore Ihe cover plale is installed. The cap is (aclory inslalled <br />inside ihe sprinkler cup. Remove cap lo install sprinkler, tlien re- <br />install cap until Ihe cover plate is inslalled. <br />Maintenance <br />The Modei GS-56, GS42 and GS28 should be inspected <br />quarledy and the sprinkler system mainlained in accordance <br />with NFPA 25. Do not clean sprinklers wilh soap and watei; arrr <br />monia or any olher cleaning (luids. Remove any sprinkler that <br />has been painled (other ihan factory applied) or damaged in <br />any way. Concealed sprinklers cover plales can nol be painted <br />in Ihe field, after installation or have any other coating applied <br />other than ihe lactory finish. A sfock of spare sprinklers should <br />be maiNained to allow quick repiacement ot damaged or oper- <br />ated spnnklers. Prior Io installation, sprinklers should be main- <br />tained in tl�e original car�ons and packaging to minimize Ihe <br />poten(ial lor damage to spnnklers Ihat would rause improper <br />operation or non-operation. <br />Orderiny Iniormation <br />1.
