The submitted plans must designate where cars <br />and/or parts are to be washed on the site in order to prevent <br />contaminated water from entering the storm drain system. <br />Acceptable locations are within a building or in an outside area <br />designated as a wash area that meets the following conditions: <br />a. is pa <br />b. is designed to collect only waste water, adjacent site area <br />drains away from the wash areas; <br />c. disd arges wash water to the sanitary sewer after passing it <br />thro)ffigh a baffle -type oil/water separator designed to meet <br />Citystandards using the expected rate of water flow used to <br />wash cars; <br />d. is covered or has a discharge pipe with a positive control <br />valve that is shut when washing is not occurring aid <br />appropriate signs instructing the washer as to valve operatkig <br />procedures.
