CASCADE GEOTECHNICAL
November 16, 1988
— Job No. 8811-20G
Rainier Capital Management
Page 2
The subsurface soils observed in the test pits were described in
— the field and classified using the Unified Soils Classification
, System. Representative soil samples were obtained from the test
_ pits and taken to our office for a period of thirty (30) days from
the time of our site investiqation then discarded, unless otherwise
_ specified by you. The test pit logs and detailed soil descriptions
are presented in Appendix A.
SITE DESCRIPTION
— The site is located southeast of the Everett Mall Wap, 4th Avenue
West intersection in Everett, Washington. The north end af the
— site is occupied by an old gas station that is no longer in use.
Much of the area around the old building is asphalt paved. The
_ remaining portion of the site is relatively flat and has been
cleared of trees. The fill consisted of dark brown to brown to brown i
silty sand ;ith gravel and some organic debcis. Below the orange
_. brown silty sand to a depth of approximately six and one-half (6 ;
1/2) feet below the existing grade is mottled gray, medium dense to
dense, moist to wet, silty sand with qravel. Below the mottled '
gray silty sand with gravel to the termination depths of all the
test pits is qtay, medium dense to very dense, moist to wet silty
sand with gravel that appears to be a glacial till deposited during
the most recent glaciation of the Puget Sound Region. The mottled '
fl
