"ALLAN GIFFEN
Location: Planning & Community Development Time: 6:30 p.m
Hearing Room, 8th Floor Wall St. Bldg.
2930 Wetmore Avenue
Everett, Washington
A G V N D A
Approval of Minutes — September 7, 2004
Item #1: Workshop on the potential rezone and height change on Rucker Avenue from Everett
Avenue to Pacific Avenue
The City of Everett has been approached to look at rezoning an area on Rucker Avenue from
Everett Ave to Pacific Ave from C-1 to B-3 and change the height of buildings on the east side of
Rucker Ave from 80 feet to 150 feet. This is an information workshop and the next step is to
contact affected property owners and owners of property within 500 feet of the proposed change.
The rezone is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.
Staff Contact: David Koenig Phone: 257-8736
Item #2: Adult Retail Business Uses- Second Workshop
The Everett City Council on July 21, 2004 passed a 6 -month moratorium on Adult Retail Business
Uses. At the September Planning Commission meeting there was a workshop on this issue. At the
October 6, 2004 City Council Meeting, City Council gave further direction to Planning Commission
regarding this issue. This direction included that their intent is existing businesses would not be
affected by this regulation change. The City is concerned about the proliferation of adult use
business uses that deal primarily in the retail sale, rental or other transfer of adult-oriented books,
videotapes and other adult paraphernalia. Adult retail business uses are not currently regulated by
existing regulations regarding location and setbacks from sensitive uses. This stopgap measure
gave to study the issues and prepare appropriate revisions to City regulations.
Staff Contact: Allan Giffen Phone: 257-8725
Item #3: Staff Report on ongoing work within the DeDartment of Planninty and Communitv
Development
Interested citizens are encouraged to attend and provide testimony.
