The survey also asked the degree to Which adult bookstores affect <br />property values generally and the basis for this opinion. <br />Twenty-nine percent of those expressing an opinion saw little or no <br />effect as the result of adult bookstores on surrounding property <br />values. They based this opinion on their own professional exper- <br />fence (13;), the observation chat this use usually occurs in an <br />already-deceri orated neighborhood (24%) and the feeling thac <br />on 1-y one such adult entertainment use would be inconsequential. <br />A substantial -to-moderate negative impact was projected by 50% <br />of the respondents.
