Due to the overwhelming degree of support for almost <br />any regulatory initiative and, also, due to the relatively small sample size, few <br />group differences are statistically significant Home ownership and gender are <br />exceptions. In general, home owners are more likely than renters and women are <br />more likely than men to endorse any regulatory initiative. These differences are <br />expected, of course, but a careful examination of response patterns reveals a <br />curious difference. When asked whether the City should regulate the locations of <br />adult businesses, for example, home owners and women alike express stronger <br />support for regulation than their complementary groups.
