W <br />ORDINANCE No. <br />An Ordinance relating to Junk and Inoperable Motor Vehicle Abatement, Amending <br />Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 10 of Ordinance No. 2338-98 (EMC Sections 8.22.010, 8.22.020, <br />8.22.030, 8.22.040, and 8.22. 100) and Repealing Sections 6 and 7 of Ordinance No. <br />2338-98 (EMC Sections 8.22.060 and 8.22.070) <br />Whereas, the parking and storage of junk or inoperable motor vehicles on private <br />property within the City of Everett is a visual blight upon the neighborhoods; and <br />Whereas, the City Council finds that the parking of junked and inoperable motor <br />vehicles is often an attractive nuisance; and <br />Whereas, the City's code does not allow for the removal of inoperable motor vehicles <br />when they become a public nuisance; and <br />Whereas, as a first class City, the City of Everett has the power to enact regulations <br />necessary for the preservation of public morality, health, peace and good order; and <br />Whereas, as a first class City, the City of Everett has the power to provide for the <br />prevention and abatement of nuisances; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br />Section 1: Chapter 8.22, of the Everett Municipal Code (Ordinance No. 2338-98), which <br />is entitled as follows: <br />JUNK VEHICLE ABATEMENT <br />Be and the same is hereby amended to be entitled as follows: <br />JUNK AND INOPERABLE MOTOR VEHICLE ABATEMENT <br />Section 2: Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2338-98 (EMC 8.22.010), which reads as follows: <br />Title. <br />The ordinance codified .in this chapter shall be known as the "Junk Vehicle Abatement <br />Ordinance" and may be cited as such.. <br />Be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Title. <br />The ordinance codified in this chapter shall be known as the "Junk and Inoperable Motor <br />Vehicle Abatement Ordinance" and may be cited as such. <br />96 <br />
