The design and implementation of public improvement projects undertaken in any of the designated gateway corridors identified above shall inciude aesthetic as well as functional considerations in order to support and enhance the visual quality and character of the city. Such aesthetic considerations shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate street trees and plantings, utility structures such as street lighting and traffic control devices, public right-of-way signs, retaining walls and pedestrian safety rails, bicycic lancs, transit benches and shelters, and other right-of-way improvements as appropriate. 3. The design of sites, buildings, landscaping and signs which are developed on properties abutting the dcsigned gateway corridors should be of a qualiry that upgrades and enhances the aesthetic character oP the City m general and the immediate xreas in particular. 4. The City shall work with propeny and business owners along gateway corridors to develop and implement strectscape improvement plans both within the public right-of-way and on properties abutting thc right-of-way. Such improvement plans shall be coordinated with Snohom�sh County for the uaincorporated portions of corridors that are located in the Everett Planning Area.
