The design and implementation of public improvement projects undertaken in any of the designated <br /> gateway corridors identified above shall inciude aesthetic as well as functional considerations in <br /> order to support and enhance the visual quality and character of the city. Such aesthetic <br /> considerations shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate street trees and plantings, utility <br /> structures such as street lighting and traffic control devices, public right-of-way signs, retaining <br /> walls and pedestrian safety rails, bicycic lancs, transit benches and shelters, and other right-of-way <br /> improvements as appropriate. <br /> 3. The design of sites, buildings, landscaping and signs which are developed on properties abutting <br /> the dcsigned gateway corridors should be of a qualiry that upgrades and enhances the aesthetic <br /> character oP the City m general and the immediate xreas in particular. <br /> 4. The City shall work with propeny and business owners along gateway corridors to develop and <br /> implement strectscape improvement plans both within the public right-of-way and on properties <br /> abutting thc right-of-way. Such improvement plans shall be coordinated with Snohom�sh County <br /> for the uaincorporated portions of corridors that are located in the Everett Planning Area. <br /> Fire Ueaartment Reauirements: <br /> L Access-The Internutionul �irc Codc requires thut ull new structures shall provide Fire Department <br /> access roads to within 150 feet exterior walking distance of all portions of the ground floor. Fire <br /> Department access roads(Fire Lanes) shall provide a minimum of 20 fcct in width of unobstructeJ, <br /> paved driving surface with a minimum cican c�ight of 13'6". Inside turn radu must be 35 feet. <br /> Outs[de turn radii must be 55 feet. Slo{.c approach and departure angles must not exceed 8 <br /> degrees. Firc lune grade must nut exceed 15 percent. Fire lunc construction must comply with <br /> AASH"CO H30 load cupncity. Fire Lanes will be posted and maintained as required by the Fire <br /> Department. Unorthodox access which mcets codc requirements but ls too unusual for crews <br /> will not bc allowed. <br /> Radius curb cut to strect. <br /> 2.
