Today,
diesel fueled vehicles owned by the city use ultra low sulfur diesel based on a cost reimbursement program
the City has with the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency. The proposed agreement with the PSCAA would
continue the current reimbursement program through June 30, 2006. The PSCAA has agreed to pay the cost
difference between low sulfur diesel and ultra low sulfur diesel fuel. Additionally, the Puget Sound Clean
Air Agency will also pay for costs to repair equipment (fuel filters) that fail due to using ultra low sulfur
diesel.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to sign the Interlocal Agreement between the Puget Sound
Clean Air Agency and the City of Everett related to the use of ultra low sulfur diesel fuel.
Rlh AV0629Os PSCAA I LSD IA
