Proposed Reteil Development J-1443
1 l2'^Street and Hwy.99 Febcuary 26,2004
( Evetett,Washingron Page 22

described in the Subsurface Conditiora section of this report. The sands appeaz to be lughly
susceptible to erosion and would likely require protection. Grouadwater seepage may aleo have
an impact on both temporary and petmanent slopes along the stream, as well as the design and
construcrion of walls or rockeries that may be necessary W define the stream course. Dewatering
mcasures may be necessary during the construction of the channel. The magnitude of dewatering
will likely be dependent on the time of year that construction takes place and can only be
determined at the time of construction.
LOSURE
The conclusions and recottunendations presented in ihis report are based, in parl, on the
explorations accomplished for tlus study. The number, location, and dep of the explorations
were completed witkin the constraints of budget and site accesa so as to yield the infarmation w
formulate the recommendatioiu. Project plans were in the preliminary stag at the time of t6is
repo:t preparafion. We therefore recoromend that ZZA be provided the opportunity to review the
project plans and specifications when they become aailable in order to confinn that the
recommendations and design conside:ations presented in this report have been properly
interpreted and implcmented into the project design package.
The integrity of eazthwork, structual fill, and foundation and pavement perfonna►ice
depend ready on proper site preparation and construction pmcedures. We recommend that a
qualified geotechnical engineering firm be retained to provide geotechnical engineering services
( during the earthwork-rclated construction phases of the project If variadons in the subsurface
condifions aze observed at that time, a qualificd engineer would be abte to provide additional
geotechnical engineering recommendadons to the wntractord design team in a timely manna
as the project construction progresses.
i
i
1
;
i
J-1443,022604
7
aa. i
