8. Everett Transit's caoital contribution. Everett Transit shall make a capi!al <br /> contribution in an amount not to exceed four million($4,000,000) for Community Transit <br /> to build re�vlar BRT stations within the City of Everett along the Highway 99, Evergreen <br /> W ay, Rucker Avenue and Pacific Avenue corridoc Community Transit shall provide <br /> invoices to Everett Transit on a quarterly basis for BRT station planning, design, right-of- <br /> way acquisition and construction costs. <br /> 9. Northern Terminal construction. Evcrett Transit shall construct the Northe:n <br /> Terminal for the new BRT alternative at Gverett Station to accommodate BRT vehicles <br /> and is currently scheduled to complete construction no later than December 31, 2009. <br /> 10. Sales and use tax sharine. Everctt Transit shall provide an annual amount equal to <br /> the tax rate of five hundredths of one percent on sales and usc activity in the City of <br /> EvereU("funds") to Community Transit beynnint;in the first year of operation of the <br /> BRT altemative in Everett. Everett Transit will continue to provide the Cunds each year ro <br /> Community Transit so long as Community Transit operates Bus Rapid Transit alung the <br /> Highway 99, EvergReen Way, Rucker Avenue and Pacific Avenue corridors. Provided, <br /> howc✓er, if Everett Transit has made a capital �ontribution of more than$1 Million <br /> pursuant to Section 8 in a given calendar ycar, Everett Transit shall not be obligated to <br /> also provido the funds described in this Scction in that same calendar year. <br /> 1 I. Sianal Prioritv. Everett Transit shall provide Transit Signal Priority for the BRT <br /> altemative on the Highway 99, Evcrgeen Way, Rucker Avenue and Pacitic Avenue <br /> corridors. <br /> 12. Extension of Bus Raaid Transit to other sienificant transaortation corridors. <br /> Everett Transit and Community Transit will explore the possibility of extending thc Bu� <br /> Kapid Transit alternative to Broadway Avenue and other significant transportation <br /> corridors within the City of Everett. <br /> 13. Extension of local transit services 6v Evcrett'frxnsit. Everett Transit and <br /> Community Transit wil( explore the possibility of Everett Transit providing local transit <br /> services witliin the Snohomish County Public Transportation Benefit Area to previously <br /> under-served areas, including a resumption of the transit route between Mukiltco and <br /> Boeing. <br /> 14. Owncrshia of Nortliern Terminal. Everett Transit sliall own, operate, maintain and <br /> be responsible for the disposition of the Northern Terminal at Everett Station. <br /> 15. Acquisition of propertv needed to build stations. Community Transit sha(I be <br /> responsible for acquiring the propeRy needed to build the regular stations along the new <br /> BRT route along the Highway 99, Everett Way, Rucker Avenue, and Pacific Avenue <br /> coridots within Everett. Community Transit shall own,operate and maintain said <br /> stations so long as the BRT altemative along said corridors remains available to citizens <br /> of Everett provided, however, if this Ageement terminates, ownership of said stations <br /> shall be transferred to Everett Transit. <br /> �O <br />
