The application is for the approval of a Special Property Use Permit for the construction of an 6,500 square foot branch library on property located at 9512 Evergreen Way, Everett, Washington. The proposed structure will replace an existing 1,500 square foot temporary structure that has been on-site �ince 1985. 2. In order for a Special Property Use Permit to be granted within the City of Everett, the criteria of EMC 19.58.O10.B (1-3) must be satisfied. With conditions, these criteria are satisfied. 3. The requested use is compatible with other uses in the area. Other uses in the area include a commercial development and residential uses. The proposed library is a compatible addition to both of these land uses. 4. The requested Special Property Use Permit will not have a serious adverse impact on the environment or the community. 5. ThP requested Special Property Use Permit will serve the public convenience in that it will provide an additional library for the residents of South Everett and the surrounding areas. 6. Because of the limited space in the existing structure, a new building is necessary. The requested Special Property Use Permit for the 8,500 square foot building will serve the library needs for up to 12,OQ0 people in the City of �verett.
